Sandusky, Ohio has a rich history of cigars.  In 1873, the city directory listed 38 cigar makers and several shops.   In these shops, a cigar lover could always find a good 5cent cigar!

A figure of Mr. Punch carved from a spare of a sailing vessel in
New York was brought to Sandusky in 1866.  It stood outside of Henry Ritter's cigar shop on the corner of  Columbus Ave. and W.  Market  St. for 73 years.  Puck, a Shakespearean figure made from solid zinc in 1881.   Holding a lightning rod fed with natural gas, he lit cigars 24 hours a day in front of  Dietz & Mischler Cigar Shop on Columbus Ave. down town.   Both of these figures and other historical artifacts related to the Sandusky area cigar business can be found at the Folliet House Museum in Sandusky.

At Sandusky Bay Cigars, we want to keep our histoy of fine smokes alive and well. I started this shop with a very strong passion for cigars. I wanted to pass my knowledge on to people who would use it to better choose and enjoy a fine smoke . The success of this shop is because of my customers, wich have become my good friends. My shop has became our shop where friends can sit, relax, and join in conversation. Everyone fits in and everyone belongs and everybody always looks forward in coming back. Wich explains my motto, " Where a cigar is a celebration!".
